Stepping Master Class

Ages 16 and up—advanced beginner level and above
Come dressed to move with appropriate shoes for Stepping

Stepping is a unique dance tradition created by African American college students. In stepping, the body is used as an instrument to create intricate rhythms and sounds through combination of footsteps, claps and spoken word. This class will include basic skills and steps and conclude a short piece of choreography taught by members of Step Afrika!.

Family Fest Outdoor Fun @ 11:30am

The Adrienne Arsht Center presents Family Fest, a free series featuring family-friendly out-of-doors activities and performances! Your entire family will have a blast at this fun-filled day full of music, dancing, hands-on demonstrations, and a petting zoo.  The activities will provide engaging opportunities for parents to share with their children, while introducing “up-close” involvement in the performing arts.

Join us for an afternoon with Step Afrika! the only professional dance company in the world dedicated to the tradition of stepping. This critically acclaimed dance troupe presents a high energy show that entertains while promoting an understanding of and appreciation for stepping and the traditions of this movement style.

Join the youth of Miami Children’s Chorus for a fun, free hour of singing your favorite popular, folk and traditional songs – no experience necessary. Families, seniors, and kids of all ages will have a great time exercising their vocal chords and making new friends.
