“Back to the Basics”
Sandy and Gretchen will lead you through ALL NEW MATERIAL exploring elements of melody, harmony, and rhythm, as well as recorder, movement, and special topics. Be ready for singing, dancing, playing recorder, and FUN!!
Sandy Lantz has been teaching at Edison Park Arts School in Fort Myers, Florida since 1991. She has taught at Univ. of So. Florida, Barry Univ. and Fla. Gulf Coast University as an adjunct professor. Sandy is the past-president and current Treasurer of the SW Fla. Orff Chapter. She is a published composer with the Eldridge Publishing and co-recipient of the 2002 Zornio Memorial Playwriting Award from the University of New Hampshire. In 2004, Sandy was the recipient of the FMEA Music Educator of the Year Award. In 2007, Sandy became a National Board Certified Teacher.
Gretchen Wahlberg is currently teaching at Veteran’s Park Academy for the Arts in Lehigh Acres, Florida. As an adjunct professor, she has taught at Univ. of South Florida, Barry Univ. and Florida Gulf Coast University. She has presented numerous workshops in the state of Florida, New York, Georgia, and Texas. She won the Golden Apple Teacher Recognition Program in 1996. She is the past-president of the SW Florida Orff Chapter. In 2006, Gretchen received the Lee County Music Teacher of the Year award and is a National Board Certified Teacher. In 2011, Gretchen received the Florida Elem. Music Educator of the Year from FMEA.
Sandy and Gretchen have successfully co-taught Level One Teacher Training Courses in Orlando, Fort Myers, Deland, and Jacksonville, Florida and Level II in Jacksonville. In the past, they have presented sessions at AOSA conference in Nebraska, Alabama, Georgia, and Wisconsin. This summer, they will be teaching Level I at Stetson University.
