Monday Give-Away!

Happy Monday South Florida Orff! I hope you had a great weekend.  I know that many of you attended our workshop with Gretchen and Sandy.  It was great!

I mentioned at the workshop that I would have a give-away today… here it is…

What was your favorite idea that you got from Gretchen and Sandy at Saturday’s workshop?

Leave a comment! I’ll pick a winner on Friday.

  1. We are already using some of the activities today. I just tried the melodic and harmonic bordun accompaniments with some of the pieces we were practicing. They got it real fast. Thanks for the workshop. It was wonderful!

  2. I loved the addition and subtraction game. It entails focusing on the steady beat, rests, group interaction, and number sequences. It can also involve intervals at a more advanced level.

  3. I loved the games like “I Lost the Farmer’s Dairy Key” that I can use with my second graders and some of my higher functioning autistic classes.

  4. I can’t wait to try Hoo Ha, but I’m going to change the words to our school.
    Everything was super….once I arrived : )

  5. Everything Gretchen and Sandy do is always useful and interesting. My favorite thing was, of course, the dance segment, that of Alabama Gal and also the dance of In My Ladies Garden with the rock, paper, scissor, game. I used Alabama Gal with my Grade 6 General Music Ed class on Monday and they absolutely LOVED it; they had so much fun!

Of course, if I had an ORFF set-up, I would be in a great position. I do have a chorus room, but not the ORFF materials.
