More Benefits of Music- advocacy tool

If you go to,, you can see a 1 page pdf file that you may want to print out and distribute to your students, their families, or your faculty.  It’s a great little reference sheet with studies cited.  It’s a wonderful advocacy tool that you can have at your fingertips.

  1. A musical rehearsal empowers children for the rest of the day. I know because I see the rewarding feeling that my students have at the end of a very intense practice section. They have to work hard and concentrate because they know that sounding as one voice involves every player in the room and a mistake can be heard. At the end of a session we talk about
the progress we made and they leave the room delighted. It is a workout.
