Cup Game

I know I’ve posted the famous “cup game” before but I found a great visual on Pinterest that seems like it would be helpful to students.

Pinterest takes this to this blog: http://highshoalsmusic.blogspot.com/2013/05/the-cup-game.html where you can find directions.

This is one of my favorite games to play with children and I like to change up the music that we use in the background.  In the Hall of the Mountain King is fun for teaching tempo changes, and something like Day-o in fun for practicing and having fun.   I’ve also modified the directions for the little ones so they can have the same experiences with passing on the beat and playing a “big kid” game, but it’s more successful for their motor skill level.

Have you played this game? Did your students love it?
