Summer Symposium with Artie Almeida and Denise Gagne!

Greetings Elementary Music Instructors,
If you are looking for a dynamic, fast-paced and resource-filled Professional Development opportunity this summer, consider attending the Fourth Annual Artie Almeida & Denise Gagne Summer Symposium at the University of Central Florida. The clinic is called “SINGING, SUN AND ORLANDO FUN!” The dates are Monday-Wednesday, July 22-24, 2013, from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm daily, for a total of six sessions a day and 21 instructional hours. The location is the Fairwinds Alumni Center, on the campus of UCF.
To date, there are 80+ teachers attending from 15 US states and 2 Canadian provinces. The lunchtime sharing conversations should be fabulous! Lots of your Florida colleagues will be in attendance!

It’s going to be another “family affair” with lots of teachers returning for their 2nd, 3rd, or 4th year at our symposium. Come and join us! Listed below is the schedule of topics we will be presenting – they include a huge variety of great lessons to help you map out next year’s lesson plans. Four fabulous guest clinicians (including 3 FMEA members) will be joining Artie and Denise to share their teaching ideas with you. Lisa Hewitt, Grace Jordan, Lisa Langston and Kerry Heisler each have unique sessions planned for you. Music theory, technology, singing games, instruments, movement activities, planning strategies and even a blacklight session are on the agenda! Many, many lessons that your students will enjoy will be presented.

In 2010 our symposium was on a cruise ship, in 2011 it was in Las Vegas, in 2012 it was Nashville, but this year it is right in your backyard – in Orlando!  Get your Professional Development hours this summer without a lot of travel costs.
All of the information about location, registration and lodging is up on the UCF website
(www.cah.ucf.edu  , then click on Summer Camps, then Denise and Artie Symposium) or you can email me at  musicja@mac.com  . We hope to see you there!
Best regards,
Artie Almeida
