Our first workshop for the 2014-2015 school year was outstanding! South Florida was pleased to welcome Thom Borden, who presented a terrific session on using children’s literacy in the music classroom. If you come to the next workshop and join as a member for the year, we will send you his notes and answer any questions you have on the activities.
We hope to see you at our next workshop on September 13 with Tim Wiegand. His session is titled “Energize Your Music Room”.
“In this workshop teachers will participate in a variety of fun engaging games and activities that work. The intent of this workshop is to build your students musicianship skills while bringing up their energy level and willingness to participate. Getting students to engage and join in with bright eyes and smiles is always a challenge. Not only will the students be energized to join in, but teachers will also be excited to try out new materials. Teachers will sing, dance, play games, recorder, and Orff Instruments. Along the way Tim will also share some of his classroom management techniques and tips. Please bring a soprano recorder.”
