About South Florida Orff

The South Florida Orff Chapter (SFOC) is a local non-profit organization for music educators, which is affiliated with the American Orff-Schulwerk Association (AOSA). Originally developed by German musician and teacher Carl Orff with the assistance of Gunild Keetman, the Orff-Schulwerk philosophy utilizes music, movement, and speech to educate the total child.

By singing, moving, playing instruments, and experiencing the Orff teaching process in SFOC workshops, members improve their musicianship and overall effectiveness in the music classroom.  Professional interaction with other talented teachers promotes enthusiasm and creativity, translating into higher student achievement in music. All music teachers, even those who lack equipment (such as barred instruments or a classroom), benefit from Orff training.

Begin a new musical journey for yourself and your students by becoming a member of the South Florida Orff Chapter.  It will be an experience you’ll never forget!
